Foundation Sponsors Program to Honor Young Arkansas Entrepreneurs Print E-mail

The Arnold Family Foundation is lending support to the Arkansas Economic Acceleration Foundation's program where elementary and middle school students will showcase inventions and business development skills at the 6th Annual Y.E.S. for Arkansas Competition on January 14, 2011. The Nehemiah Network, a Central Arkansas partnership of more than 250 churches, business and civic leaders came together to host the second Central Arkansas CityFest event on October 2nd at War Memorial Stadium/AT&T Field. This year’s event, called ONE, stood for “One Generation, One Passion, One Movement.”

Through its partnership with the UALR Department of Theatre Arts and Dance, the Arnold Family is encouraging Arkansas students, especially those from the Delta region, to pursue a higher education in dance.

The Bill and Sharon Arnold Family Foundation proposed a $1,000 matching grant for the Idlewild School Restoration project in Idlewild, Prairie County, Arkansas. The one-room school, built in Idlewild in 1921,was attended by all children in the community until 1949 when the district was consolidated with DeValls Bluff.

The Arnold Family Foundation helped sponsor the third annual Wild Wines of the World, a fundraiser for the Little Rock Zoo, an event which was held on May 15, 2010 with over 500 guests in attendance. The event was a huge success and this year offered more than just wine. Other attractions included a German beer garden and guests also enjoyed scrumptious morsels form several area restaurants while listening to live music. More than $40,000 was raised for the Little Rock Zoo by this event.
